The Electrician Apprentice is responsible for measuring, cutting, and installing conduit, receptacles, switches, light fixtures and fuse boxes consistent with Employer and Client specifications and National Electrical Codes. The Apprentice must take work direction from a licensed electrician, or other assigned personnel. The Apprentice is also responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting equipment, supplies and tools to and from job site and vehicles, and is required to clean up work area or project site at the completion of each job.
Hourly Position: up to $25.00 per hour

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist electricians with disassembling defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment
- Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit
- Drill holes for wiring and pull/push wiring through opening
- Trace out short circuits on wiring
- Lift, position, and fasten objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches
- Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order
- Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment
- Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment
- Perform other routine duties required to install electrical systems or as directed by management
Skills & Requirements:
- Familiarity with and ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Familiarity with and ability to use electrical equipment and hand tools
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Solid electrical aptitude and mathematical abilities appropriate to the position
- Adhere to all quality and safety codes
- May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Required Experience and/or Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Currently an Electrician Trainee, enrolled or working on enrollment in an approved Electrician Trainee program (in accordance with the applicable state regulations)
- Knowledge of electrical theory, basic circuits, branch circuits and specialty systems
- Knowledge of magnetic induction, three-phase transformers, conductors and wiring methods
- Experience in operating forklifts and other powered equipment
- Experience with operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
