Shipping and Receiving Clerk

The Shipping Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing outgoing order shipments. Their duties include staging and packing product for shipment, completion of inventory transactions to close orders, reviewing incoming and outgoing carrier schedules to maintain productive operations, coordinating with the various departments to facilitate timely delivery of orders, and completing paperwork necessary to accompany shipments.

This position assists in processing paperwork, preparing shipments, managing inventory, tracking shipments, and verifying receipt of shipments. Delivering packages to proper departments, preparing packages for shipment, while being accurate, reliable, accountable, timely, and ability to work well independently.

  • Receiving UPS & Federal Express and supplier deliveries
  • Maintain records of all outgoing and incoming shipments from and to vendors
  • Prepare shipping documents along with the correct mailing labels and ensure that all orders are shipped correctly
  • Consolidate shipping orders
  • Reconcile bill of lading with bill of materials and actual shipment arrivals
  • Ensure that the goods delivered to the warehouse are in accordance with approved orders and the associated bill of lading or invoice
  • Perform the unpacking of consolidated shipment deliveries and distribute contents to the right warehouse bin location
  • Accomplish daily goods movement flow
  • Receipt of spare parts in inventory and tracking system
  • Enters inventory counts in Fishbowl (computerized inventorysystem)
  • Inventory control (count verification, stock maintenance, reporting damaged or defective goods)
  • Ensure compliance to operational control plans pertaining to significant environmental aspects

Requirements and Skills:

  • 18 years old with a High School Diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills
  • Forklift experience (2 years)
  • Exemplary customer care skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Detail-oriented and multitasking skills
