D-Riven Engineered Solutions is seeking an Apprentice Electrician candidate that will be responsible for supporting electrical system installations, modifications, relocations, removals in a manner consistent with D-Riven and customer expectations and National Electrical Codes. The candidate must take work directions from a licensed electrician, or other responsible persons. The candidate is also responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting equipment, supplies, and tools to and from job sites and vehicles, and is required to clean up work areas and the broader project site during, and upon the completion of each job.
Pay: $26 – $30 per hour
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
In this position, the employee will be responsible to:
- Uphold D-Riven’s health and safety standards throughout the execution of a given project, along with ensuring compliance with customer safety rules and regulations
- Execute tasks as directed by assigned journeyman/lead
- Assist journeyman electricians in disassembling power distribution electrical equipment, replacing defective, worn, or failed system components, and reassembling equipment
- Gather tools and supplies to be used at the work site
- Measure, cut, and bend EMT conduit, and thread rigid conduit
- Support the installation of Unistrut frames and hangers, cable tray, and conduit piping
- Complete manual, and mechanically supported wire pulls and terminations
- Trace and label power distribution and control wiring prior to equipment removal
- Install/mount electrical system equipment including panels, disconnects, junction boxes, and motors
- Perform electrical upgrades such as wiring or replacing light fixtures, and light switches
- Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order
- Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment during and after use
- Perform other routine job site duties as directed by management
- Skills & Requirements:
- Experience or willingness to travel full time (100% travel), and complete work nationwide
- Own and maintain a vehicle that is reliable and suited for interstate travel
- Familiarity with and ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Familiarity with and ability to use electrical equipment and hand tools including:
- Manual pipe benders, electric/hydraulic pipe benders – bending pipe up to 4,” knock-outs, Unistrut shears, cable cutters and crimpers, wire feeders and tuggers, and multimeters
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Solid electrical aptitude and mathematical abilities
- Willingness to adhere to all applicable codes and accepted best practices
- May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Required Experience and/or Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Currently an Electrician Trainee/Apprentice, are enrolled or working on enrollment in an approved Electrician Trainee program (in accordance with the applicable state regulations)
- Knowledge of electrical theory, basic circuits, three-phase power, and wiring methods
- Experience in operating forklifts and other powered equipment
