D-Riven Engineered Solutions is seeking an experienced and accountable Industrial Engineering Specialist – 1 to join our Industrial Engineering division. This employee will be responsible for executing mechanical equipment, rigging, installations, disassembly, relocation, and service to meet our customers’ varied needs, while upholding D-Riven’s high quality standards.
Starting Pay: $26 – $30/hourly based upon skills and experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Rig, install, assemble, disassemble, relocate, and service mechanical industrial equipment
- Utilize industrial rigging tools (Versa-lifts, millwright casters, industrial fork trucks, overhead cranes, etc.) to relocate equipment within facilities, and for transfer to different production plants
- Execute installations in accordance with engineered drawings or schematics
- Document equipment disassembly procedures to aid in reassembly
- Inspect and troubleshoot machinery for defects and malfunctions
- Conduct maintenance repair tasks, such as bearing, shaft, pulley, belt, and chain replacements, to ensure proper functionality of existing equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and alignment, to avoid unplanned customer downtime
- Support mechanical utility (chilled water, tower water, natural gas, compressed air) infrastructure modifications and upgrades by fabricating and installing associated pipe systems (threaded, grooved, or pressed pipe)
- Fabricate pallets and palletize equipment for transfer between production facilities
- Load and unload dry vans and specialty trailers using various types of powered equipment
- Maintain a consistent presence on the floor, and lead tasks by example
- Oversee the performance of junior team members and provide mentorship to facilitate growth
- Cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external teams
- Raise operational concerns to Team Leads, Project Engineers, and/or the Operations team as needed
- Ensure team members and contractors collaborating on assigned tasks uphold D-Riven’s rigorous quality and safety standards
- Perform other routine jobsite duties as directed by management
- Skills & Requirements:
- Experience or willingness to travel full time (100% travel) and complete work nationwide
- Own and maintain a vehicle that is reliable and suited for interstate transportation
- Own and maintain a basic set of hand tools (wrenches and sockets <1”/25mm, screwdrivers, etc.)
- Expertise in reading mechanical drawings, architectural blueprints, and equipment installation and service manuals
- Possess mastery of the use of powered industrial equipment and hand tools including:
- Fork trucks, aerial lifts, pipe threaders, roll groovers, and cordless power tools
- Possess foundational mathematical abilities related to the position
- Possess foundational electrical knowledge (<600V power distribution, and low voltage control)
- Hold strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to adhere to all internal and customer quality and safety rules and expectations
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including manual lifting, and willingness to work in dirty and uncomfortable conditions, including at height
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends/variable schedules as necessary
Required Experience and/or Education:
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Certification: Technical certification or vocational training in an industrial trade or mechanical technology
- Experience: 7+ years relevant experience in a mechanical service industry, or industrial maintenance environment
